Love the trade for St-Louis, Paajarvi has alot of upside and adding a 2nd rounder to him is great.

Also gives the Blues enough money to sign Stewart and Pietrangelo.

All of that AND getting rid of David Perron's disappointing scrambled egg brains? SCORE

Yeah..... I'm sure that was also considered.

Still, Perron is a pretty good player.

Indeed. But his skill set didn't really jive with the Blues gameplan. His skills may better translate with the Oilers offensive skill level than it did with the Blues. PLying with the likes of Hall, RNH, Gagner, Eberle, etc should better help him realize his offensive potential, albeit as a minus skater

great deal for both teams.

Perron`s level of compete is something the Oilers desperately need.

Pajaarvi was just too frustrating to watch...like an awkward baby horse/cow learning to walk. He has great potential but I was sick of watching him pull the `chute every time he had to go to the dirty areas. Hitch might get him going though!

good trade guys.

not many x not a lot

He has way too much to prove... anything north of about $1.3m/year is paying him for poitential rather than results

Looks like a swap of two guys that have been head-scratchers to this point in their careers.

Except that the Blues are coming out of this much better financially.

Pretty much, good fresh start for both. Watch both score 40 goals next season lol.

Perron can score 70 next year for all I care if MPS pots 40 on our 3rd line.

I like the move for the Blues. You gotta assume given the Blues cap situation, this could have been Paajarvi + a 4th or Paajarvi straight up.

I mean, I like the player the Oilers got too.

Solid trade for both sides, but I think the Blues came out ahead.

Although I will miss Perron on the blues, MPS could thrive on a team like the blues. Playing with Backes and/or steen rather than finese young players will help him IMO. Also the 2nd round pick helps.

Blues have some young kids that can step up huge next year. Schwartz, tarasenko, rattie, and now MPS.

Wish the Blues had gotten Perron for Oilers first, but still a solid deal for both teams. Perron fits Oilers system better, though he will need to cut out the constant offensive zone penalties. Blues get cap space, prospect, and likely a high to middle of the second round pick.

On Oilers roster, Perron getting 70 is definitely possible though, if everyone stays healthy.

Loved DP57's skill. With that being said, he is too small and his skill was ineffective when it came to playoff time. Plus he tweeted that he didn't like Hitch's style of play. He signed his own ticket out of town. MPS is bigger with the same upside. Getting a 2nd rounder is a bonus too. Don't know much about MPS, but on the surface, it looks like the Blues got the better end of this deal.

depends on how we roll it. If we want to rock a solid top 6-bottom 6 split, they'll have a tough time running a Perron-Nuge-Ebs danglefest together.

If they want to roll 3 even lines, Perron with - say - Gagner and Yakupov might not have the fire power to get him to 70 points.

Definitely a move that blows the whole roster wide open.

He showed flashes of being a 60 point player in Hitch's system. Even with Gagner an Yakupov, I can see Perron hitting 70. Not saying it's something to be counted on, just saying it's not out of the question either.
